STUDENT
ANNOUNCEMENTS
May 8th,2008 ART Day
There
will be an ice cream party on Friday (5/9) at 2:00 in the afternoon in
appreciation of the aluminum can recycle drive.
The
Kingwood Elementary students will be going into Rockwood on Tuesday, May
13th for the Matinee Performance of the High School Choral
Program.
Menu Changes:
On Thursday (8th, 15th & 22nd)
the BBQ rib sandwich will be substituted for the Hot Pork Sandwich with
Gravy.
There will be no school on May 26th,
this is Memorial Day.
May 22nd and 23rd are track
and field days rain dates are the 29th and 30th.
STUDENT LUNCH
POLICY
·
When a student reaches a balance of less than $ 2.50 in their
account, the cashier will remind them that they need to deposit money
into their account.
·
When a student reaches a -$ 2.00 in their
account, they will not be permitted to purchase additional items other
than a regular breakfast or lunch. This includes all items in the
ala carte line and individual purchases in the regular lunch line.
·
When a student reaches a balance of -$ 5.00, the student
will be served a peanut butter and jelly lunch or similar alternative.
·
When a student reaches a balance of -$10.00, the parents
will receive a courtesy call from the food service director, to inform
the parents of their child's status. The food service director will
keep a phone log of the date, time and person with whom they discussed
the situation.
·
When the student reaches a -$25.00 balance, a
formal letter will be sent home by the food service director. This
letter will inform the parents that unless the balance is corrected, a
meeting with the building principal and the food service director will be
requested. Additionally, further action may result with the local
magistrate.
Just a reminder to parents, Request for bus changes
made by telephone WILL NOT be permitted.
Our goal is not to inconvenience you, but to ensure safe and proper
transportation for your child. (student handbook page 15)

Some changes to our school day.
Classroom run time will be 8:05 to 3:12. A student will be marked
late if arriving after 8:20.
Early dismissal will be after 2:40pm to not be counted as 1/2 day.
End of Day student pickup policy. Parents will enter the side door to
cafeteria and a supervising teacher will monitor the sign out process.
Parents will then wait in the cafeteria area for their student to be
dismissed. Please do not enter the hallways until after the bell has rang.

Announcements
A reminder to all students, all electronic toys, such as ipods, gameboys, cd players, etc are not permitted in school.
Students turning in lunch money, please include your pin #’s on the
envelopes.
Students are reminded to make sure they have all homework assignments,
books and coats needed for the evening before they leave the school.
Students are not permitted back in the classrooms after dismissal for the
day.
Show your school spirit on every Friday; wear Red and White for the
Rockwood Rockets.
EVERY
DAY STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Students are reminded that if you will be riding another bus (other than
your home bus) a parent request must be turned into the office.
All excuses are due in the office 3 days of the student’s return or they
will be counted as an illegal absence.
Students who will be taking prescription medication in school need to
pick up a form in the Nurse’s office. Remember this includes inhalers or Epi-pens. It is against school policy to carry any
medication in school without a signed paper from their doctor.
In the event of an early dismissal, students should have an action plan
on were they are to go.

Student Excuses/Medical Info/Busing:
All excuses are due in the office within 3 days of
the student's return or the days absent will be counted as unexcused.
Students are reminded that if there is an unscheduled early dismissal
they are have an action plan and know what to do.
Students are reminded that if they are riding another bus (other than
