ATOMS Program-ATOMS Program Flyer
SAT SCHOOL DAY- Rockwood will begin offering the SAT twice a year during a school day! Our first test day will be Wednesday, March 4th. Students currently enrolled in College Prep English 11 will automatically take the test at no fee. Any other Juniors who want to take it can sign up to take it as well (no fee). Seniors who are interested can take it at cost to them. You do not register online. We complete registration in class. If you have any questions, please feel free to stop in Guidance.
PFEW: Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week representatives will be here to present to our current 10th and 11th graders regarding the wonderful opportunity they provide in the summer for students interested in buisness.
ASVABs-The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery(ASVAB) will be given on Thursday November 14th, 2019. This is a free assessment designed to help students learn about themselves and the world of work, as well as to identify and explore potentially satisfying occupations and to develop an effective strategy to realize their career goals. The test has three sections;; a multiple-aptitude test, an interest inventory and a career exploration tool. All current 10th graders will be taking the test, as well as any interested 11th and 12th grade students. Although associated with entrance to the military, the test is also used by many schools as a career interest inventory. Scores for the 10th graders cannot be used for entrance to the miliatary. Student who are interested in the military can submit their scores when taking the exam in 11th or 12th grade. The test will take place in the morning during 1st-4th period. SOS Program-The The Signs of Suicide program will be implemented in the 9th Grade Health classes, please click the following link- SOS program, or visit our district's Facebook page to find out more information. Letters are also being sent home with the 9th-grade students. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Opfar in the Guidance office.
PSATs-PSATs will be given at the school on Wednesday, October 16th, 2019. All students enrolled in CP English 10 & 11 will take the test. If you are not enrolled in one of those classes and are interested in taking the PSAT, please stop in Guidance.
9th Grade SCTC Experience-Interested 9th graders can attend the 9th-grade experience at Somerset County Technology Center (SCTC) on Thursday, December 5th, 2019. This experience is for 9th graders who are interested in possibly enrolling in SCTC for their 10th-grade year. Mrs. Opfar will speak with all 9th graders and send home permissions for those interested

Pre- College Honors Program- This is a program through California University where high school students can earn college credits online while still in high school. See www.calu.edu for more information or the guidance office.
