Winter Weather 2022-2023 (making up snow days)

With winter weather returning to the forecast, we want families to be aware of the District's plans for making up snow days this school year. When the need arises to cancel school due to inclement weather, the following schedule will be followed:

  • The first 4 snow days will operate like traditional snow days in the past. Students and staff will not complete schoolwork on these days. These days will be made up during the 4 snow make-up days already built into the school calendar.
  • The next 5 snow days will operate as Flexible Instructional Days. Students and staff will be expected to complete schoolwork on these days. These days do count for attendance and do not have to be made up. Teachers and principals will be providing additional direction to their students in the near future as to what to expect on these days.
  • All remaining snow days will operate like traditional snow days in the past. Students and staff will not complete schoolwork on these days. These days will be made up with additional days added to the end of the school calendar in June.

We are hopeful to limit the number of interruptions to the school year, as well as to family schedules. However, the decision to close school, delay school, or dismiss early, will always be made with the safety of our students and staff as the main priority.

In addition, every effort will be made to give families as much notice as possible when closing, delaying, and dismissing early.
