In accordance with Pennsylvania Act 44 of 2025, the Rockwood Area School District is informing you of an incident that occurred at the Rockwood Area Elementary School this morning, involving a prohibited item.
A student was found in possession of a small pocketknife. Upon receiving this information, the classroom teacher, School Resource Officer, and school administration responded immediately, ensuring that the item was safely removed from the instructional area and that all students were supported. At no time were students or staff in danger.
The situation was handled promptly and in accordance with school safety protocols and district policy. Appropriate follow-up actions have been taken.
The Rockwood Area School District considers the safety and well-being of our students and staff to be our highest priority, and we remain committed to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment. The District will continue to reinforce expectations regarding school safety with our students.
