Welcome to Mrs. Miller's class page!

Hi! My name is Jessica Miller and I am one of the Reading Specialists at Rockwood Area School District. I am also the English Language Arts Curriculum Coordinator and Title Parent Engagement Coordinator for the elementary. This is my twelfth year in education and my ninth year teaching at Rockwood. I have previously taught at Salisbury Elementary as the Prek Counts Teacher and Turkeyfoot Valley where I taught Learning Support and Gifted Education.

In 2014, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (Prek-4) from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. In 2015, I continued my education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania to receive my Special Education (Prek-8) certification and in May 2020, I completed my Master’s degree in Reading at Slippery Rock University and this summer I completed my Principal's Certification.

I currently live in New Lexington with my husband, six year-old son, and two teacup yorkies. When I am not at school, I like to read, shop, and spend time with my family. My favorite out of school activity is reading with my son, Sawyer. He is in 1st grade this year and we couldn't be more proud of him! My contact information can be found on my classroom page. Please feel free to contact me via phone or email with any questions or concerns throughout the school year.
